Folsom’s Bark N Splash

There are always fun things to do here in Folsom.  One that I look forward to year after year is the Bark N Splash at the Folsom Aquatic Center.  This year it is on October 10, from 1-4. What is a "Bark N Splash"? Lets just say the pool goes to the dogs! What they do is open the Aquatic Center up for the dogs to swim and play. It is a hoot! There are 2 pools open for the dogs. One has beach entry and a play structure with water falls. The other one is a regular pool, but with steps making it easy to the dogs to get out.

If you go with your four-legged friend plan on getting wet. Humans are not supposed to get in the  pool, but with all the dogs running around, shaking etc, you will get wet! If you bring toys, you might want to bring ones that you don't mind getting lost. The dogs do tend to share and you may never see that favorite squeaky toy again. I always bring my camera.

Admission is $10 per dog(human companions are free). Entry requirements: You must provide written proof of current license for dog, all dogs must be on-leash for entry(off leash inside). City of Folsom Animal Services representatives will be available at the event offering dog licenses, microchip implants and rabies vaccinations. This is a popular event, so either go early or later when it thins out a bit. And be sure and bring the written proof of license. It will save you time in line. For more info check out the City of Folsom or call 916 355-8318.

FYI: As standard post-season procedure, the pool is drained, sanitized and inspected after the event.
