Saturday Sun at Folsom Lake
After working most of Saturday in my office, I decided to take advantage of the nice sunny weather and head over to Folsom Lake, to take some pictures with my new camera and to get some fresh air. What fun it was to drive through the gates at Brown’s Ravine to see lots of parked trailers, with pack mules tied to them! A pack mule club called Glorious Ears was out for a day ride around the lake. I see lots of different recreational activities at Folsom Lake but this was the first time I saw pack mules.

From anywhere in Folsom, you can get to Folsom Lake within 10 minutes. One of my top reasons for living in Folsom!
Toys For Tots Success
A big thank you to everyone that helped make the Marine Toys For Tots toy drive a success. Congratulations to the $100 drawing winner Linda Robinson.
Wishing you and yours a memorable Christmas!
Folsom Toys for Tots
Folsom readers, please help.
My office will be a collection point for Toys for Tots from now until December 15, 2010. Help me bring Christmas to needy local children!
For me Christmas is a special time for families. Some families are not as fortunate as us. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is one of the best programs available and I look forward, with the help of you, my readers, to send some Christmas toys to those children who might not have any.
What I Need:
Unwrapped new toys!
How:
Call, email me, text me and I will pick up the toys at your home. Thats all you have to do!
More Fun:
Anyone who donates a new unwrapped toy(valued over $5) will be entered into my drawing for a $100 gift card to Target. Drawing will be held 12/16 so you will have time to use it for your own Christmas shopping!
Folsom Bark & Splash
Folsom goes to the dogs!
October 9, from 1 -4pm is the annual Bark and Splash. The city of Folsom opens the Aquatic Center for the dogs. If you have a dog, that is good with people/other dogs, and loves the water, or likes to play, you should go. Dogs must have written current rabies and on-leash to enter. After you are inside you can take them off their leash. $10 per dog, humans with dogs are free.
The pool has a beach entry, and play structures, that the dogs love. I recommend bringing old tennis balls, or dog toys that you don’t mind loosing, the dogs tend to share and you may never see it again. Also, while humans are not allowed in the water, as you can imagine, with all the dogs swimming and shaking, you tend to get wet anyway.
Even though my dog is getting older, we will be going for a while. It is just so much fun and puts a smile on your face to see little and big dogs playing. If you see me out there, be sure and say hi. I will be the one following an english springer spaniel named Shasta!

Folsom Homecoming Parade 2010
Living in Folsom
One of the things I like most about Folsom, is the feel that we still are a small town, with the benefits of a larger one. One of my favorite small town events is the homecoming parade. I watched the Folsom High School Homecoming Parade this past Friday and thought I would share some pictures of it. If you get a chance, next year, be sure to check out either Folsom High School or Vista Del Lago High School homecoming parade.
